Since my last post all kinds of things have gone on, but this post is going to be dedicated to my trip to the Southwest. My soldier is doing some training in AZ and this just happened to be the first time since he has been a soldier that I have been able to join him while he's been on duty. We were both very excited! I got home from the New York family trip and booked the AZ ticket that night.
I was able to visit over Labor Day weekend, which worked out perfectly because he had all day Monday off.
I arrived on Thursday night after some interesting flights and we got home and went to bed since he had to be up early Friday morning to work. I hung out at the house reading while he was working, and considered going for a run but decided against it seeing as I had no idea where I was or how to get back to the house in the day light. That night we spent time with some of his classmates, which was lots of fun!
We spent a lot of the weekend just lounging and watching movies, which may sound lame. But, it was really relaxing and we laughed a lot. We went to Target almost every day to get either food or other things we needed, and cooked an impressive dinner Saturday night.
[Cooking dinner together]Sunday we visited the Wild West town of Tombstone, AZ where they were having a big event all weekend with an 1800's fashion show in addition to all the regular gun fight reenactments. I'll talk more about Tombstone in a separate post.
[Us with the town Marshals]My favorite thing about Arizona, hands down, was the mountains. They are in every direction you look and they are different every day depending on the weather. I'm sure Herman got tired of me talking about them every time we were in the car, but they really were captivating.

Monday came far to quickly and I had to pack up and fly back to the Midwest and he had to go back to work. We were able to spend most of the day together since my flight left at 10:30 pm. (I will be avoiding red eye flights from now on whenever possible.) Two days after I got home it was back to school and back to reality. But, I get my soldier back next week!
I hope everyone is having an amazing week!
